Vitamin E & Organic Selenium work synergistically to combat stress and are vital for proper muscle and nerve function. These nutrients help enhance immunity and thyroid production as well.
Selenium is an important antioxidant that helps to speed recovery from oxidation caused by muscle function and fatigue. It's antioxidant effects help to reduce the free radicals that damage tissues throughout the body. Adequate amounts of selenium allow for optimal levels of antibodies to fight disease. Do not feed this product if you are feeding other products which provide sufficient selenium.
Selenium deficiency can cause tying up of muscles, and reduce performance and fertility. Severe deficiency can cause death (white muscle disease). In most cases selenium deficiency is sub-clinical. In this case selenium deficiencies show either no or only subtle signs (such as slightly stiff muscles). In severe deficiency the horse becomes symptomatic usually with muscle dysfunction like tying up. When the symptoms become visible it is called a clinical deficiency.
