About Horse Guard

Horse Guard is a second-generation, family-owned equine supplement company based in Oregon since 1978. We manufacture and ship premium horse supplements to customers and dealers across the United States.

We are looking for a dependable, hard-working individual to join our warehouse team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in organization and efficiency, and works well in a small team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately
  • Prepare pallets and dealer shipments
  • Receive and organize incoming inventory
  • Load and unload shipments using a forklift
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment and forklifts
  • Keep warehouse clean, organized, and efficient
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation
  • Support manufacturing and packaging projects as needed
  • Help maintain quality control standards

Requirements

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly
  • Comfortable working on your feet throughout the day
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Basic computer and organizational skills
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
  • Horse or agricultural industry knowledge is a bonus, but not required
  • No smoking on company premises

Schedule

Labor Day through Memorial Day:

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Summer hours, 1/2 day Fridays:

  • Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an outgoing, dependable, and knowledgeable Equine Sales & Event Representative to represent Horse Guard at horse shows, dealer events, trainings, and equine industry functions.

This role is focused on brand awareness, customer education, and strengthening relationships with dealers and end users. You will serve as the face of Horse Guard in the field and play a key role in helping customers better understand equine nutrition and our products.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys travel, meeting people, working independently, and being involved in the equine industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent Horse Guard at horse shows, expos, and equine industry events

• Set up, organize, and manage event booths and displays

• Educate horse owners and customers on Horse Guard products and equine nutrition

• Attend dealer and feed store events as the Horse Guard representative

• Support dealer relationships and increase product awareness at retail locations

• Conduct in-store trainings and product education sessions for dealer associates

• Assist with event preparation, promotional materials, and product organization

• Build strong relationships with customers, trainers, store associates, and industry professionals

• Travel independently to events, trainings, and dealer functions as scheduled

• Communicate customer feedback and event insights back to the Horse Guard team

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong equine knowledge and horse industry experience required

• Comfortable speaking with customers and groups in a professional setting

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while traveling

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented

• Positive attitude and team-first mindset

• Ability to lift booth materials, product bags, and promotional supplies

• Willingness to work weekends and travel for events as needed

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred (Not Required)

• Previous sales, retail, ambassador, or event experience

• Experience working horse shows or equine events

• Background in equine nutrition or supplements

• Social media experience for sharing event content and customer engagement

Schedule

Flexible part-time schedule based around events, dealer trainings, and horse shows

Weekend availability required during event season

Additional Details

• Travel required throughout the year for horse shows, dealer events, and trainings

• Approximately 30–40% travel, including flights and overnight stays

• Personal vehicle required; mileage and approved travel expenses reimbursed

• Smoke-free company property

• Background check may be required with applicant consent
